Cadillac has chosen UK-based Dynisma to supply a DMG-360XY driver-in-the-loop simulator for its expanding Formula 1 programme. The system will be installed at the team’s Indiana hub to support car development, driver preparation and race setup work.

Key Takeaways

  • 1.“Selecting the right simulator platform is a key decision for any Formula 1 team,” said chief technical officer Nick Chester.
  • 2.“Dynisma is proud to support the Cadillac Formula 1 Team as they continue to build their technical capability in Formula 1,” said founder Ash Warne.
  • 3.“The DMG-360XY is engineered to deliver a highly repeatable, high-fidelity environment, supporting informed decision-making across both long-term car development and race-by-race setup preparation.” The move strengthens Cadillac’s infrastructure as it scales its F1 programme.

Cadillac has selected simulator specialist Dynisma to deliver a DMG-360XY driver-in-the-loop platform as it builds out its Formula 1 operation, the company announced on June 2. The state-of-the-art system will be installed at the team’s growing hub in Indiana in the United States.

Bristol-based Dynisma, which has previously worked with Ferrari and McLaren, will supply a “top of the range” simulator designed to support vehicle development, driver preparation and set-up work. The DMG-360XY features LED wall visualisation, ultra-low latency and high bandwidth to achieve the realism and correlation demanded by modern F1 programmes.

The motion platform can travel up to five metres on both the X and Y axes and offers unlimited yaw capability, enabling the replication of complex vehicle dynamics and nuanced driver feedback within a controlled environment.

“Selecting the right simulator platform is a key decision for any Formula 1 team,” said chief technical officer Nick Chester. “Dynisma’s technology gives us the level of fidelity, responsiveness and correlation we were looking for as we continue to build our technical capability. “The addition of the DMG-360XY is an important step as we establish the tools and systems needed to support our engineering work and driver programme over the coming seasons.”

Cadillac framed the investment as part of its continued commitment to innovative technology and infrastructure to compete at the top level of motorsport. The simulator is set to become a core link between driver input, engineering development and setup validation.

“Dynisma is proud to support the Cadillac Formula 1 Team as they continue to build their technical capability in Formula 1,” said founder Ash Warne. “In modern motorsport, simulation plays a central role in connecting driver feedback with engineering development, and ensuring strong correlation between virtual tools, wind tunnel and track testing. “The DMG-360XY is engineered to deliver a highly repeatable, high-fidelity environment, supporting informed decision-making across both long-term car development and race-by-race setup preparation.”

The move strengthens Cadillac’s infrastructure as it scales its F1 programme. Attention now turns to installing the simulator in Indiana and integrating it into engineering workflows and driver training over the coming seasons.
